Cherwell Local Plan 2040 v.2

Closed 30 Jul 2024

Opened 16 Jul 2024

Overview

Following the decision in 2020 to undertake preparation of a new Local Plan for Cherwell, a Community Involvement Paper 2020 and an Options Paper 2021 were published to gather your views and contributions in shaping the new Local Plan.

Cherwell District Council has now produced a draft Local Plan which establishes the vision, objectives and strategy for development in Cherwell up to 2040. The Cherwell Local Plan 2040 ensures that we address the challenge of climate change, support sustainable development, deliver good economic growth, protect the natural and historic environment, whilst also supporting local communities and businesses.

This Plan reviews, and where necessary, updates or replaces existing policies and proposals from the Cherwell Local Plan 1996, the Cherwell Local Plan 2011 – 2031, adopted in 2015, and the Partial Review of that Plan, adopted in 2020.

As this Plan will determine the future of Cherwell to 2040, this consultation seeks your views on the content and direction of the Cherwell Local Plan 2040.

The consultation period will run from [Day/Date/Month/Year] to [Day/Date/Month/Year].
